Kish Island:The Iranian Dubai
The Iranian government wants to transform the coral island of Kish, situated in the Persian Gulf, into an Iranian Dubai. In fact, since the end of the 90’s a promotional and development campaign has brought the island in direct competition with Dubai. The idea of the Teheran administration is to stop the flow of Iranian investment towards Dubai and, to attract foreign investors to the island, therefore creating a strip of land far from problems connected to central government policy, where everything runs smoothly. © ALESSANDRO GRASSANI
