Ski Tehran
Skiing in Tehran on the Elburz mountains, in the north of the city, whose peaks reach 4000m: here the Revolution Guards don’t come as far to impose the veil or Islamic law. So the ski slopes of Tochal and Dizin, which are covered for 8 months a year, become a sanctuary for the rich youngsters of Tehran who meet to spend the Islamic weekend at a “western oasis” to feel as free as at any well-known western ski resort. © ALESSANDRO GRASSANI
